Chief Buehler and Officer Berry "to the rescue"

The Village of New Athens Board Meeting, May 6, 2024, Officer Jason Berry was presented the Stork Award and Pin. The recognition was given due to a service call Officer Berry responded to at Casey’s General Store parking lot. Officer Berry was informed of a pregnant female in labor. Officer Berry responded on scene and within several minutes delivered the baby while seated in her vehicle. Officer Berry’s quick actions and calmness assisted the family in the arrival of their newborn daughter. Congratulations and a job well done!

I rely on my department heads to furnish me with instances of their staff extraordinary performance and making sure recognition is given, Chief Buehler is great at that.   He has the traits of a good leader, always taking responsibility and never taking credit.  Chief Buehler assisted and help guide Officer Berry through the assistance with the birth and has the gratitude, along with Officer Berry, for extraordinary performance.
