VILLAGE CLERK APPOINTMENT
Launch the media gallery 1 playerI appointed Nancy Ritter as Village Clerk and Collector at the September 16, 2024 Regular Board Meeting. ed: Nancy started her career in 1999 with the village and has served several times during that time as deputy village clerk, elected village clerk and appointed interim village clerk. Due to her long tenure, she is a true fountain of information on all aspects of New Athens municipal government. She has educated several village clerks on the aspects and duties of the village clerk position. What she loves most about the job is helping and being of service to the citizens of New Athens. Daily dealing with elected trustees, the mayor and the citizens is not always pleasant. Nancy deals with them and takes it all in stride. Most of the community is patient, polite and pleasant. However, she occasionally must deal with some negativity and still, she continues to smile through it all.
I am grateful for the Village Trustees concurrence with the appointment and look forward to Nancy as a strong member of the Village management team.
