Launch the media gallery 1 playerVillage Clerk Amy Benwell spearheaded a project with Ameren Illinois which resulted in the village saving $3,650 per year in energy cost through the implementation of a smart thermostat, technology used for automation which can remotely control the temperature though a smart device. Smart thermostats allow access to your heating and/or air conditioning system and lets you automatically schedule the temperature of your facility throughout the day. Ameren granted a project incentive in the amount of $3,120 which resulted in a total cost to the village of $1,500. The energy savings will completely pay for the investment in five months.
