Water and Sewer Fee Rate Increase
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe village board passed an ordinance increasing water and sewer fee rates eight percent at the February 5, 2024, regular board meeting caused by several factors. Most of the village water transmission and service lines, as well as sewer lines, are more than eighty years old and require substantial increased, ongoing repair and maintenance cost.
The majority of the sewer treatment plant mechanical equipment is beyond it’s service life and requires replacement and/or ongoing increased maintenance cost. The village water and sewer fee rates have not been increased for over two and one-half years.
In addition to the above issues, we are experiencing the highest rate of inflation in the last forty years. We regret the necessary increase necessitated by a desire to provide an adequate service to you.
