Officers Renner and Berry Come to the Rescue
Launch the media gallery 1 playerDetective Jake Renner and Officer Jason Berry on July 19, 2023 responded to a medical assist call in St. Clair County venue. Upon their arrival, both officers observed a female victim whom was overdosing and not responsive. Detective Renner administered two doses of NARCAN to the female victim. Officer Berry held the female in a 'recovery position' for her breathing. Shortly later the female victim regained consciousness and was alert. New Athens EMS staff arrived on scene and provided medical care to the victim. Detective Renner and Officer Berry were presented with a 'Life Saving Award and pin at the New Athens Board Meeting on August 7, 2023.
