Officer Stories and New Athens EMS Outstanding Performance
On May 28, 2023 Officer Aaron Stories was dispatched to assist a male subject with a hand injury on River Road. Upon Officer Stories' arrival to River Road, he located the injured person as a passenger in a vehicle in which he had stopped. Officer Stories quickly applied a tourniquet to the arm of the injured person who severely injured his left hand and stopped the bleeding. The sever injury was caused by a firework blowing up in a person's hand. Shortly later, New Athens EMS arrived and provided emergency medical care to the injured person.
Arch Air Medical Helicopter transported the injured person to Mercy Hospital. Office Stories' and the New Athens EMS quick response in providing medical care considerably helped the injured person in need.
