Outstanding Traffic Citation-Officer Jason Berry

January 11, 20224 Officer Jason Berry conducted a traffic stop for speeding while on patrol.  During the traffic stop, Officer Berry was informed the driver had an FTA-warrant from Clinton County (Illinois).  Officer Berry arrested the subject and charged the subject with; driving while license revoked (Class A misdemeanor), operating a vehicle when registration is suspended (Class A misdemeanor), unlawful display on a vehicle license plate not authorized by law for use on such vehicle (Class A misdemeanor), operating uninsured vehicle and speeding.  The driver was also cited for the same traffic violations on January 7, 2024 by another agency.

Officer Berry’s pro-active patrol method has resulted in a warrant arrest and removing a habitual offender from the Village of New Athens.  Next time you see Jason around town, tell him, thanks for "serving and protecting".
