SPOTSYLVANIA RESURFACING UPDATE
Launch the media gallery 1 playerWe had two grant awards for the resurfacing project, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The DCEO award was for $585,000 and the IDOT award was for $450,000. The project cost will be close to one million dollars, therefore, we had to move the IDOT funding cycle forward one year and combine the awards. This was accomplished with several meetings with DECO, IDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHA). The decision on the letting type (bid process) is more complicated than normal due to the intermingled funds.
The current schedule is for a spring letting (bid) and summer construction, 2024.
